Kai is the founder and CEO of OceanIQ Capital, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor operating as a multi-family office. OceanIQ advises its families in public securities, private equity funds, and technology start-ups on behalf of its client families. OceanIQ is active in venture capital and has invested into over 25 technology start-ups through SPVs. Kai is also a general partner of Silicon Catalyst Ventures, the venture capital arm of the world’s largest semiconductor solution incubator Silicon Catalyst.
Kai began his investment management career at Goldman Sachs and followed by Credit Suisse. His investment advisory teams had overseen multi-billion dollars of client assets. He also focuses on cross-border investment advisory, working with clients across US and greater China. He has worked extensively with prominent families on investment management, trust & estate planning; with corporate founders on pre-immigration and pre-IPO planning. He is active in non-profits including elected as the Vice Chair of Monte Jade West, an Asian American technology association of entrepreneurs and executives. He also spending 6 years on the board of FLY, an organization that focuses on at risk youth. Immigrated to US from Taiwan as a teenager, Kai graduated from UCLA with a BA in Business Economics. He is a CFA Institute Charter holder since 2002. Kai is an avid golfer and resides in Los Altos, CA with his wife and two children.
